Super Automatic Espresso Machines

Capresso Super Automatic Espresso Machine

Super automatic espresso machines only require that you supply the coffee beans, as the machine does the rest at the touch of a button.

The automatic process of grinding the coffee, filling the brewing chamber and tamping the grounds are in place.

It also has the facility of discarding the used grounds into an onboard waste box for disposal at a later time once the machine has finished making the espresso.

These machines come with many options and features, and depending on the model that you select, you can have different program options that control the strength of the coffee, the quantity and the temperature, just to name a few.

The Super Automatic Espresso Machines Features and Program Functions

Digital Display
This is a certain feature for you, if you are a person that gets annoyed by flashing lights. Super automatic espresso machines include a digital display that tells you what the machine is ready to do next, what it is doing at the present time, and what needs to be done.

It is usual that each indicator light signifies more than one issue, so the digital read outs present an advantage of specificity. The digital display will also highlight the volume of coffee that is being prepared. It will also give the user prompts for programming options and indicate how many cups have been made since the day it was first used.

Bypass Doser
The bypass doser allows the use of ground coffee in the machine rather than whole beans. This is an ideal feature for those guests that you may have arrive at your house, wishing to drink a cup of decaffeinated coffee. If using coffee beans, it simply is not possible to turn your machine upside down to discard the beans that are inside waiting to be ground. This way, you can simply take a little decaf that you may have stored in your kitchen cupboard and place a little in the bypass doser.

Dual Heating Elements
Super automatic espresso machines normally take approximately 43 seconds to heat up from brewing to steaming temperature. However with two heating elements this time is practically eliminated.

Programmability
There are many programmability options with super automatic espresso machines. Listed below are some quick descriptions of the program options that are relatively common:

  • Temperature Control

The normal temperature setting of espresso is approximately 184 degrees upon outlet from the machine. It is after it falls into the cup that the temperature reduces to approximately 165 degrees. This change can be reduced by pre heating your cups. The in-cup temperature of your espresso will be approximately 171 degrees, when setting the temperature to high.

  • Pre-grinding

When making multiple drinks, this feature is very beneficial. The machine will grind the next batch of beans whilst you are brewing, and keep the grounds waiting in the brew group. The brewing process will begin automatically when the brew button is next pressed, rather than waiting for the beans to be ground first.

  • Pre-brewing

The pre-brewing process moistens the coffee with water and steeps for a few seconds before the actual brewing process begins. This assists in the flavor being fully extracted from the coffee grounds.

Aside from this, channeling is avoided when the coffee is pre moistened. This is whereby the water finds only one or two paths through the coffee rather than evenly saturating it. During the pre brewing process the grinder will run, whereby when a slight pause occurs, a few dribbles of water will emerge from the spout. Brewing will then commence after this.

  • Liquid Volume Control

It is possible to control the quantity of water that is dispensed with super automatic espresso machines.

  • Adjustable Dosing

The dosage of coffee is the quantity of ground coffee that is used to brew a cup. By adjusting the amount of ground coffee, you will change the strength of the finished product based on the quantity of water that you are brewing with.

Removable vs. Non-removable Brew Groups

The part of the machine where brewing takes place is called the brew group. There is an advantage to having a removable brew group and that advantage is that there is the ability to personally inspect the machine for cleaning and maintenance purposes. It is a painless process that requires no tools. The brew group needs to be removed on a regular basis, in order to rinse off any coffee oils and residues that may cling to the machine. Machines that contain non-removable brew groups have an automatic rinse cycle that is performed when starting up the machine and when turning it off.

Cup Warmer

Cup warmers are included with many super automatic espresso machines. One of the largest enemies of a cup of coffee is a cold cup. Your coffee can only be better if your cups are firstly warmed using the cup warmer facility.

Water Filtration Systems

The flavor of the product along with the machine life are vastly different when using filtered water. An internal water filtration system accomplishes both of these factors as well as reduces the quantity of decalcification which needs to be performed to clean the machine. It is normally only necessary to change the filters on a 3 to 4 month basis.

Steaming Capability

Super automatic espresso machines, as with all espresso machines, comes with an attachment for frothing or steaming milk, the most common being the steam wand. The steam wand is the external pipe found on espresso machines whereby steam is released through the boiler. Hot water can be dispensed from these wands. There is a steam knob which needs to be opened or closed in order to release steam or hot water. On the super automatic espresso machine, the steam wands are usually equipped with a frothing aid for the purposes of milk.

As long as the machine is at brewing temperature, the steam wand can dispense hot water, which makes it a nice feature for tea, hot chocolate, or other beverages that require hot water.
