This company was founded in 1908 in Germany and started with the "Filter Top Device" that was lined with a paper filter by Melitta Bentz, a housewife. In the 30's a new filter emerged in the shape of a cone. From there the natural brown filters were created and the non-chlorine white filters.

Besides the original company in Germany, Melitta USA also resides in Florida and the Roastery is headquarted in New Jersey. Melitta continues to be a leader in innovation and design in the coffee maker industry as well as other non-related coffee products they produce.

They feature a full line of products including manual coffee makers, single serve machines up to 12 cup makers.
