Coffee PodsCoffee pods are a great option if you are shopping for a single serve coffee maker. The pod coffee maker brews the perfect strength cup of coffee every time.
They are basically a single serve coffee packet that you place directly into your pod coffee maker. It has a standard amount of coffee grounds that makes either a five to seven ounce or eight to ten ounce cup of coffee. These pre-measured coffee grounds are encased in a disposable, sealed filter. This makes brewing that morning cup of coffee quick and easy. Pods are used with specific single serve coffee makers that require these types of coffee. The pod coffee maker is always a single serve coffee maker and many do not take traditional filters and coffee grounds. Most single serve coffee makers use one of two standard sizes, although other sizes are available. The most common sizes are the 44mm pod that is primarily used in espresso machines, and the 62mm pod that is ideal for home cafe coffee makers. If you are new to a single serve coffee maker, you will want to begin with a single cup coffee machine or pod coffe maker. These can range in price anywhere from $70.00 to $199.00. If this is your first encounter with pods, it is probably wise to begin with a less expensive model. Once you determine that this is the coffee brewing method for you, then you can invest in a more expensive model with all the bells and whistles. While many single serve coffee makers only accept pods, you can also use pods with most traditional coffee makers. This makes it much easier when you are only trying to brew one cup. If you desire stronger coffee, simply use two pods. The great thing about pods is that many of them are individually packaged to seal in freshness. This way there is no stale, wasted coffee. There are quite a few different types of coffee that you can get in a pod. Choose a standard brew to start with. Once you find a company with the quality of taste that you enjoy, you can venture out and try some of their variations. Some companies even offer flavored coffee pods like French vanilla roast or hazelnut. The more you experiment, the more enjoyment you will get from your pods. Single serve coffee makers that use pods allow you to brew an exceptional cup of coffee with ease. They are also much less expensive than stopping at the local coffee shop for your daily cup o' joe. At approximately $.20 for a five ounce cup or $.40 for an eight ounce cup, coffee pods make achieving that perfect cup of coffee both simple and affordable. |
